Map II of Oconee River in Baldwin County:
This map shows four potential park sites the Oconee River Greenway Authority is considering for development:
- The initial site in Milledgeville
- A 100 Acre tract owned by DNR that could be a low-lying nature preserve area
- Fort Wilkinson
- Central State Hospital property along the river that will include a boat ramp, overlook areas and serve to connect with
the Bartram State Forest
Each site will be completely unique in what it offers to the public. Some parks, such as Fort Wilkinson, will be
educational only. Others may include more recreational opportunities.
It should also be noted that the Oconee River Greenway Authority includes other counties that are adjacent to the
Oconee River and as plans develop, they will be added to this website.
